The Bells Of Notre Dame

“I have loved the 1996 Hunchback of Notre Dame for so many years, largely because of the incredible soundtrack. The opening scene is such an exhilarating mix of on-screen drama and musical commentary, and it is the music from that sequence that I’ve arranged for organ here. I’ve tried to capture as much of the original orchestration as possible, because I think that does so much to tell the story; this does mean you need a relatively large organ with at least three manuals! If you’re playing this on an organ with chimes then I encourage you to improvise a little peal of bells at the very beginning, before launching straight into the opening. This is a challenging play, but SO worth it!!”
